About JC Michaelson

Jill Marshall and April Nelson met initially in 1995 at GE Plastics, but it wasn’t until 2012 that the pair reconnected, combined their skills, and formed JC Michaelson Consulting.

The two identified an opportunity to educate employers and employees on making informed healthcare decisions. Businesses face challenges not only from injuries, but also from employee retention and absenteeism.

Non-work-related issues cost many companies more than work-related injuries. They can impact employees both financially and psychologically and will directly affect an employee’s quality of life. That needed to change.

Jill and April, working with Cassandra Waters Brusie, formed JC Michaelson to help small businesses tackle healthcare challenges and educate employees, encouraging healthier workplaces and practices. JC Michaelson has experience treating injuries and illnesses in the workplace, as well as managing disability cases and abiding by OSHA guidelines. They provides healthcare education to employees and employers, fostering skills that create a healthier and more productive work environment.

What’s In A Name?

People are always asking us, “Where did you come up with your name?” This is the story of JC Michaelson.

Jill Marshall, April Nelson, and Cassandra Waters Brusie founded JC Michaelson Consulting together in 2016. The company’s name combines elements of everyone who played a role in the firm’s creation. Jill and Cassandra’s names are responsible for the JC, and April’s last name contributed the suffix of “son.”

In honor of April’s late brother Michael, they chose the name Michaelson. Michael was a “pay it forward” type of person. Do the right thing because it’s the right thing to do. It’s that simple. Every day, with every client, we strive to make that philosophy a key component of our business.
